EYE EXAMINATIONS

We provide full scope Optometry including eye examinations (eye health checks, diabetes and glaucoma monitoring, cataract assessment, computerised visual field testing, colour vision and stereopsis testing etc) as well as specialised services in vision related educational difficulties of children and visual perceptual testing (Behavioural Optometry). We work closely with numerous schools, educational psychologists, occupational therapists and audiologists to undertake visual and perceptual testing of children whose educational performance does not reach expected levels or whose concentration levels are below average.

NEW TECHNOLOGY: DIGITAL IMAGING

We are delighted to now have two new pieces of diagnostic equipment to further improve the eye health care we can provide. The first is a retinal camera that allows us to photograph the back of the eye for a permanent record of the retinal appearance. This is extremely useful for watching the health of the eyes in diabetics, glaucoma sufferers, highly short sighted patients and people with many other conditions. We can show you the results of this test on the spot on a high resolution monitor. We also have installed a corneal topographer which is another digitial imaging machine that maps the shape of the front surface of the eye. It is used for contact lens fitting, corneal problem assessment, astigmatism measurement and many other condiitons. Again we can show you the results at the time of the examination. Both these procedures can be undertaken in a matter of minutes and in the majority of cases do not require the use of any drops in the eyes. Please note that Medicare does not cover the cost of these imaging procedures and there is a small charge associated with them. 

CONTACT LENSES

We prescribe a large range of contact lenses for short and longsightedness, astigmatism, coloured contact lenses, contact lenses for daily, overnight and extended wear as well as mutlifocal contact lenses. New contact lens technology has now made available multifocal lenses that also correct astigmatism.  

FRAMES & LENSES

Our spectacles have a two year unconditional frame warranty (even if you damage it yourself!) and we only use the finest lenses from France, Australia, Germany and Japan. Our lenses include high index thinner and lighter lenses as well as premium anti-reflection coatings to reduce glare from headlights and screen based equipment as well as making your eyes more visible to others. Colour change lenses (transition) are extremely popular on the full range of single vision, bifocal and multifocal lenses and are always worth considering.

We maintain a range of over 500 frames from designer brands such as Daniel Swaroski Paris Eyewear, Fendi, Coco Song, Bellinger, Nautica, Gant, Silhouette and Calvin Klein as well as affordable collections from Guess, Wayne Cooper, Nike, Sceats Eyewear and others, whilst still keeping a lower priced range for the budget conscious. In the current competitive environment it is difficult for the consumer to compare "like with like", the numerous types of lens materials, lens designs, lens coatings and finishes making it impossible to directly compare one providers product with another. Our promise is always to strive to provide the best lenses into quality frames backed by unbeatable warranties at reasonable prices!

SUNGLASSES

We stock a large range of sunglasses that extend from the high fashion end to classic timeless designs. Many of these sunglasses can be fitted with prescription lenses.

MEDICARE & VETERAN AFFAIRS

The majority of examinations can be BULK BILLED through Medicare and we can claim for spectacles and contact lenses from private health insurers for you on the spot using HICAPS. We welcome Department of Veteran Affairs Gold card holders and can provide spectacles to eligible veterans and dependents under this government funded scheme.
